HLR is a 20-something-but-closer-to-30-year-old writer. She writes both poetry and prose (flash, short stories, micro-memoir, essays, CNF) and often merges the two forms into “prosetry.”
She writes about challenging subjects such as mental illness, addiction, trauma, grief, and death.
Other topics include heartbreak, drugs, family, relationships, drunken escapades, living with chronic illnesses, and encounters with strangers in London and beyond.
Perpetually on the verge of either a breakdown or a breakthrough (sometimes both), HLR was born and raised in north London and is yet to escape.
She holds a BA (Hons) degree in English Literature from the University of London.
A list of previous publications can be found here.
Manifesto: I do not write for you, I write because I have to.
This site features upsetting subjects including suicide, self-harm, death and addiction. Please approach this site (and its owner) with caution, sensitivity, and an open mind.
I am not these things, but I suffer from these things:
Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD)/Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) with psychotic features + Generalised Anxiety Disorder + Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) + fibromyalgia (ME/CFS).
How can I go on this way?
And how can I not?
