I am drowning
In the charred remains of your Love.
The grey matter gets in my mouth,
Between my teeth, under my fingernails.
A cremation, a celebration of that old Love,
It covers every inch of my being in a fine dust.
Not heavy, but light, so light, the remnants of your Love
Are sprinkled perfectly upon my sorry eyelashes,
Pieces of Us settle comfortably on my hips,
Segments of shattered memories sleep upon my palm.
Covered in the grey ash, Love leftovers, I chose to burn you.
I must dust myself off and continue this business of living
Without you.

Tell me what you think!
