Since becoming recently obsessed with Haruki Murakami, I decided to take his advice for the day.
“Maybe working on the little things as dutifully and honestly as we can is how we stay sane when the world is falling apart.”
This is exactly what I have done today, and as a result I have had a positive and productive day rather than a lazy day in bed feeling sorry for myself. I have been hard at work all day, barely stopping to eat, and keeping myself busy truly is the most important thing I can do right now to push away my depression. Busy, busy, busy. (I still have time to talk to him though, if he wants to talk to me first.)
