Today, I’m feeling good. I’ve read 249 pages of Norwegian Wood, it’s so good I can’t put it down. So I’m going to finish it off this afternoon, and then I’m keen to get out and buy 1Q84, also buy Murakami. I’m in love with his writing and annoyed at myself for never having read his work before, despite many people recommending his novels to me. But now it’s safe to say that I’m obsessed. My partner came to visit last night and just left, we had a lovely time, laughing at a Boris Johnson documentary, eating cheesecake and drinking tea in bed. Just what I needed. No talk of literature, politics, art or travel though: he’s not like that.
Today, the weather outside makes it feel like springtime. The cold is crisp and fresh, the sun is shining, and there’s a slight breeze. The climate pushed me back to memories of schooldays in May-time. The Founder’s bell has just sounded 1pm so I’m going to get back to the novel.
Wishing you all a day of peace and happiness.
Nothing like those beautiful distractions…
Indeed! x
